In order to help for the cooperation between Translation Teaching and Practice, facilitate the use and improvement of Translation Workshop in translation practice, normalize the use of property nouns such as person names and place names and the use of disciplinary terms and at the same time offer high quality digital bilingual reading materials to the vast English learners in China, the National Research Center for Foreign Language Education and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press co-initiated the “Foreign-Chinese Translation Teaching Research Fund”, open to the researchers, teachers and students in China in the area of academic translation. The themes cover many academic areas including economy, philosophy, sociology and education. Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press supplies the funding for the awardees.
The second round funding has 31 research topics. Till July 31 2010, over 120 applications from 57 universities in China were received. After strict review by the experts, 21 applications passed the review and were awarded the funding. The list of the awardees of the second round funding is now announced.
The research topics for the third round funding will be announced in August.
